Frank Caperton Took Us Down Memory Lane

On Tuesday (4/25/2017) the Murfreesboro Rotary Club jumped into a time machine and Rotarian Frank Caperton whisked us back to the earlier days of Murfreesboro and Rutherford County.

He had plenty of slides along with some interesting trivia about our forefathers. We are just 2-years away from our club’s centennial celebration, (October 1, 1919). Hopefully, Frank will be on the lookout for historical tidbits about this county’s first civic club and its founding members. The Murfreesboro Rotary Club has a rich legacy of service to the community.

There were eye-opening stories about the various tornadoes that have swept the Heart of Tennessee, along with Jefferson, Murfreesboro as the state capitol and more.

Frank is president of the Rutherford County Historical Society, and they encourage everyone to visit them any Saturday morning from 9:00 to noon and talk history with its members. Ransom School is at 717 N. Academy Street.
